We are the only charity specifically supporting adults with physical and cognitive impairment in the Bristol area – this includes Bristol, south Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North-East Somerset.

We have a Day Facility which is based at Coalpit Heath Cricket Club and is open on a Monday – Friday for 49 weeks a year. The activities at Paul’s Place focus on 5 main themes: sport, drama, arts and crafts, life skills and community work. By participating in these activities confidence, self-esteem, social awareness and interpersonal skills are enhanced.

Members are encouraged to participate in a wide range of sporting opportunities. The benefits of regular exercise are recognised and valued, in that they assist in managing weight, maintaining independence and improving the quality of people’s lives. The psychological benefits of taking regular exercise have been well documented.

Skills for Life

Individual’s needs are met by a variety of activities. We design courses around individual’s needs and aspirations. These include assertiveness and awareness courses plus confidence building. Many of our members have not gained the life-skills necessary to become fully integrated adults within our communities. Our members are also involved in community voluntary work at a variety of local business’s. Our members undertake various tasks and responsibilities with an aim to paid employment at the end of there placement. These activities promote independence and support our aim to have a fully integrated community.
