Paul’s Place is looking for Trustees
We are looking for two new Trustees to join our disability charity supporting adults to live life to the full.
Paul’s Place is a charity that enhances life for physically disabled adults. We do this by providing social activities that connect people, reduce isolation, improve health and wellbeing, and give people the opportunity to develop new skills, enjoy new experiences and live life to the full.
Set up in 1995 Paul’s Place has been supporting physically disabled adults and those with cognitive and sensory impairments for 25 years. To coincide with our 25th year anniversary we have launched a new ambitious five-year strategy that aims to support more physically disabled people.
During the COVID-19 crisis we have had to temporarily redesign our support offer and all our services are currently being delivered remotely, via telephone, email and digitally (group Zoom sessions). Although it has been a challenging time the entire Paul’s Place team have worked hard to ensure that our Members (the people who use our services) remain connected with others and are still able to access support.
We are now looking to recruit two new Trustees to continue to develop the organisation in line with our strategy. We are in challenging times from the impact of COVID-19 with demand for our services increasing and all forecasts indicating that this will continue. Public sector funds are continually under pressure, so a need to diversify our income is a must.
We are looking for people with strategic vision, independent judgement, and a willingness to give time and commitment to being a Trustee. We would especially welcome individuals with previous experience of charity governance, fundraising and income generation or being a Trustee. Trustees are not paid, but it is a rewarding experience and you can easily make an impact. Currently, the Trustee Board meet monthly (virtually). In addition, we have several subcommittees that we look for Trustees with the relevant skills and knowledge to participate in.
