Paul’s Place is looking for Trustees

We are looking for new Trustees to join our disability charity supporting adults to live life to the full.

About Us

Paul’s Place is a charity that enhances life for physically disabled adults. We do this by providing social activities that connect people, reduce isolation, improve health and wellbeing, and give people the opportunity to develop new skills, enjoy new experiences and live life to the full.

Set up in 1995 Paul’s Place has been supporting physically disabled adults and those with cognitive and sensory impairments for over 25 years. In 2020 we launched a new ambitious five-year which includes a commitment to support more people, ensure that all our services our disability and needs-led, diversity our income as well as a new building project.

Whilst COVID-19 has had a dramatic impact on Paul’s Place and the way in which we have been able to support our Members (the people that use our services) we remain committed to our strategy and feel that we are in a good place to achieve it.

About You

We are now looking to recruit two new Trustees to continue to develop the organisation in line with our strategy.  We are in challenging times from the impact of COVID-19 with demand for our services increasing and all forecasts indicating that this will continue. Public sector funds are continually under pressure, so a need to diversify our income is a must.

We are looking for people with strategic vision, independent judgement, and a willingness to give time and commitment to being a Trustee. We would especially welcome individuals with previous experience of charity governance, fundraising and income generation and/ or an HR background or being a Trustee before. Trustees are not paid, but it is a rewarding experience and you can easily make an impact. Currently, the Trustee Board meet monthly (virtually). In addition, we have several subcommittees that we look for Trustees with the relevant skills and knowledge to participate in.

We welcome applicants who are underrepresented on the Board. We value diverse perspectives from the widest possible range of backgrounds.
