Our big move to Shire Way is still happening.
We’re taking exciting steps towards moving into our very own building at Shire Way, Yate in South Glos.
The Shire Way Community Centre we brought (with legacy funding) was left untouched since 2022.
We’re bringing it back to life as our very own Paul’s Place Hub.
But many more volunteer hours and extra funds are needed to get us in by Autumn 2025.
Meet Sue Milkins
Every week, Sue looks forward to physiotherapy. The sit to stand exercise enables Sue to walk along the parallette bars unaided. Sue developed myopathy later in life, which made her wheelchair dependent for fourteen years. Sue said,
“I felt ecstatic, I can’t believe I did it”
Sue can now see a future in getting herself out of bed and into her wheelchair without a hoist. Our Paul’s Place Hub will included a physiotherapy and a sensory room. Rather than having physio whenever the funding allows. Sue would have everything she needs in one place while building her confidence and skills to approach and connect with her wider community. She said,
“I wonder if more physiotherapy sessions could improve my chances to walk again?”

Opportunities for Physically Disabled Adults
Our big move to Paul’s Place Hub in Shire Way, will drastically increases our opportunities for physically disabled adults. Here are a few examples:
- Having a community café and garden for learning life skills.
- Being part of a community and bringing the community in.
- No time restrictions, so we can increase what we do and continue our projects.
- More space to support more people who need us.
- More toilet space and toilet facilities (for example, having extra ceiling hoist).
- Our members can access the whole building, with quiet spaces.
- Having extra space for displaying and possibly selling our work.
- Having space for regular in-house archery, Boccia and physical activities – saving us money in venue hire.
- We can control the temperature and lights to protect those with sensitivity and health issues.
