Kelly-anne is running for Paul’s Place

Kelly-Anne was introduced to us and our work via our team member Kerry, who is a long-time friend. It was just through hearing Kerry talk about what we do that Kelly-Anne decided she wanted to do her bit to help too. The more she learns about Paul’s Place, the people we support, and all the different services we provide – the more impressed she got!

Getting a spot for the London marathon is no mean feat in itself, so we are already super excited to see our little charity represented in such a huge event. As a thank you from us, we want her to know we will be cheering her on throughout her journey to the London marathon this October.

This starts at the Bristol Half Marathon happening on 25th September, where Kelly-Anne will also be running for Paul’s Place. This is a perfect warm-up event to help her reach her ultimate goal of running a full marathon.

“This year I have been extremely fortunate that my company Somerset Bridge Insurance Group on behalf of Vavista.com have secured me a place and sponsored me £2000 to run the London Marathon 2022 for the Charity MIND, as we can all agree over the last few years Mental Heath has been increased & this charity is truly amazing in the support they provide to all ages! Along side this I would like to raise my own sponsorship for the Charity Paul’s Place, this charity is amazing and is a charity that enhances life for physically disabled adults. I will be running the Great Bristol Half Marathon in September followed by The London Marathon in October, please help me make my journey worth it and kindly sponsor me. P.s. please also feel free to take me out on runs and help me this is going to be my toughest challenge yet!”

She has set herself a target of raising £1,000 for Paul’s Place.

We spoke to Kelly to find out how she is feeling about the event;

“Within the last 5 years since having my son, i’ve accomplised 10K runs and half marathon distances. This will be my first full marathon! I’m feeling very nervous about London. Although, the London Marathon team are really helpful in providing training plans that even include information about diet and when to rest.”
