We are delighted to announce that Paul’s Place has received generous support from the National Lottery Community Fund towards our brand-new home, Paul’s Place Hub in Yate.

Thanks to National Lottery players, we were awarded £175,000 to help fully renovate and repurpose the Hub. It transformed a former community centre into a vibrant, accessible, and welcoming community space for disabled adults. On top of this, the Fund has also awarded us £120,000 over three years to support running costs, helping us bring the Hub to life and ensuring it thrives in the future.

This incredible investment will make a lasting difference, creating a safe and inclusive environment where disabled adults can connect, have fun, and thrive. This could mean the opportunity to try sport for the first time, learn to cook a meal independently, explore creativity, and enjoy a safe space to connect with friends.

What this support makes possible

With the Hub now open, members can enjoy a wide variety of activities, including:

  • Inclusive sport: Boccia and Archery in the Bradbury Hall.
  • Health and wellbeing: Exercise sessions in our fully equipped fitness room, building strength, confidence, and independence.
  • Independence: Cookery and independent living skills in our fully accessible kitchen.
  • Creativity: Art and pottery in our crafts room.
  • Socialising and fun: Music, movies, and games in our dedicated rooms.
  • Relaxation: Unwinding in in our sensory room.
  • Podcasting: Making their voices heard in our recording studio.

Lynda Williams, CEO of Paul’s Place, added:

“We are so grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund and to everyone who plays the National Lottery for making this possible. Moving into Paul’s Place Hub is a huge step forward for us. This funding has not only helped transformed the building but also ensures that we can focus on what matters most – creating a safe, supportive, and joyful community where disabled adults can live life to the full.”

Paul’s Place Hub supports people to improve their overall wellbeing, gain confidence for daily life, build friendships, and express themselves.
